Quitting Smoke and Cannabis
Studies have shown that cannabis has actually been found to help curb cravings for cigarettes. Now for most people, getting high from traditional flower or THC oil is not an option throughout the day. However, does CBD oil help quit smoking? CBD, which is the non-psychoactive ingredient in cannabis extract, has shown great signs of reducing smoking rates by up to 40% in people that are active smokers.
2013 Blind Study
In a blind study of 24 participants, half the participants were given an 800mg CBD inhaler and the other half were given a placebo inhaler. Of the 12 participants who were given the placebo, none experienced any reduction in their tobacco addiction. In contrast, the number of cigarettes smoked was collectively reduced by 40% with the participants who received a CBD inhaler. The conclusion from the final study was that the participants given the CBD supplement reduced their “salience and pleasantness of cigarette cues.”
